Scott considered launching her own business, but first, she began crafting jewelry from home in Austin, Texas. In 2002, she established her company, Kendra Scott LLC. After her oldest kid was born, Kendra began with a $500 collection in her bedroom. She then went from store to store in Austin, selling boutiques. Finally, she had to deal with the problem in order to fulfill the orders. She sold her samples in order to buy enough material. Scott’s designs were selected for Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2006 catwalk show in 2005. Her designs were also featured in Randolph Duke’s 2007 runway presentation. Scott sold minority ownership in her company to a private equity firm for $1 billion in 2016.
