Just days later, Wighton and his partner Monisha Lew Fatt, who have been together for 10 years, tied the knot in Canberra on Saturday.

The happy couple were declared husband and wife in a stunning ceremony overlooking Lake Burley Griffin.

Wighton became emotional seeing his daughters walk down the aisle ahead of his bride.

The wedding was attended by family, friends and several NRL players.

The celebrations kicked on into the evening as Wighton backflipped his way onto the dancefloor in style.

Videos shared on Instagram showed the 30-year-old being lifted on the shoulders of his former Canberra Raiders teammates Jordan Rapana, Bailey Simonsson, Josh Hodgson and Hudson Young.

Recently retired Raiders great Jarrod Croker was also seen enjoying the action at the reception.

Wighton, who won the Dally M Medal in 2019, will leave the Raiders and join Mitchell at the South Sydney Rabbitohs from next season.

Wighton had an emphatic court win in Canberra after he and Mitchell had multiple charges dismissed following an alleged public fight outside Fiction nightclub in Canberra on February 5.

Mitchell was charged with affray, fighting in a public place and resisting a territory official while Wighton was charged with fighting in a public place and failing to comply with an exclusion direction.

Wighton and Mitchell who are distant cousins and teammates in the indigenous All Stars and NSW Blues rugby league teams, plead not guilty and contested the charges in the ACT Magistrates Court on October 30.

Three days into the hearing all charges were dismissed by magistrate Jane Campbell after a senior police officer involved in their arrests admitted to giving false evidence to the court.

Wighton is the latest NRL star to celebrate an off-season wedding after rugby league power couple Millie Boyle and Adam Elliott tied the knot in October.
